An American breed, the Tennessee Walking Horse (also known as a Tennessee Walker) was bred to be a pleasure to ride. This friendly equine is best-known for its unique four-beat gait called the "running walk," in which the horse moves quickly with a smooth gliding motion. Able to maintain this gait for long stretches of time without tiring these horses became a popular choice for those who spent many hours in the saddle. Tennessee Walkers are naturally gaited, meaning they are born with the ability to gait instead of being trained to perform it. Today they are still favored as fabulous trail and parade mounts, as well as flashy show horses.
Tennessee Walking Horse mare Ophelia would certainly be a pleasure to ride, and she's a stunner to boot! Her richly-shaded dun coat features light leg barring and a dorsal stripe, plus just enough chrome to add a little flair to her look.
